Isaac Horner IDH4 Son of William and Elizabeth Horner born at Hadleigh and baptized there on 3rd. June 1804. In 1841 he was an agricultural labourer living at Kib Kabs Farm, Perimeter Wall, Canvey Island with four children. Possibly this farm is Kibcaps which stood near the junction of KitKatts Road with Long Road. In 1851 he was lodging at Sunken Marsh, Hadleigh (this is on Canvey Island) where he was listed as a widower. In 1861 he was living in Rayleigh with Eliza (IDH5) his wife and two children. In the Canvey Island register there is Walter Henry Horner born 7th January, baptized 30 January and buried on 8th February 1864. His parents are given as Isaac Horner and Eliza Murrell. Also in the Canvey baptismal register there is Eliza daughter of James and Elizabeth Murrells baptized on 23rd December 1818.

Jane Horner IDH113 (spouse IDH4). On 9th September 1838 a baby (John?) was baptized at Canvey Island the son of Jane & Isaac Horner of Kib Kabs Farm (Kibcaps).

In 1901 he was living at 13 Lower Crescent, Linford. Died 22 November 1934 at Orsett Lodge Hospital, Essex.

Esther Smith IDH8 (spouse (IDH7) Daughter of Joseph and Sarah Smith. Born at Chadwell St. Mary and baptized there on 2 October 1858. Married Alfred George Horner in 1878. Died July 1896 of puerperal fever and is buried in Mucking Churchyard, Essex

Isaac Pledger Horner IDH9 Born 1879 at Mucking son of Esther and Alfred Horner (IDH7 & 8). He joined the 1st Life Guards at Windsor on 16th August 1899 when he was aged 20 years and 3 months, his service number was 2113. The dress uniform of the 1st Life Guards included a red jacket and a white plume on the helmet. On 28th April 1906 he married Alice Maud Cook at All Saints Church, St. John's Wood, Marylebone they had three Children,Alexander Pledger born 12 September 1908 and died in early 1909; Florence Esther born 10 June 1910 and Margaret Ethel born 15 September 1912.The following is a brief summery of his service record:-16/8/1901 1st good conduct badge. 16/8/1902 2nd good conduct badge. 6/2/1905 Promoted to Corporal Shoe Smith. 1/2/1911 Promoted to Farrier Corporal of Horse(this rank = sergeant).20/2/1911 Re-engaged for another 9 years, making 21 in total. 1/2/1914Promoted to Staff Corporal of Horse. March 1914 fractured his pelvis in an accident while on duty and spent 44 days in hospital.1/12/1914 Promoted to Farrier Quartermaster Corporal of Horse(very senior non-officer rank = Sergeant Major). 25/5/1918 Reverted to Farrier Staff Corporal (This was because almost all the 1st Life Guards were remustered as 1st Battalion of the Guards Machine Gun Regiment. Isaac's rank implies he was part of the small, remaining1st Life Guards squadron). 15/8/1920 Discharged on completion of his service. He died in 1922.

George Grover IDH118 Born about 1884, his father was James Grover and his mother Annie Elizabeth Grover (nee Ward). Married Jane Horner at St. John the Baptist Mucking on 1 August 1904 he was killed in action on Wednesday 16 January 1918.

Ellen Hughes Allen IDH13.(spouse IDH12) Her father's name was David Hughes. She was a widow with three children when she married Albert Ernest Horner at St. John the Baptist, Mucking, Essex on 25th October 1913, they had one daughter Catherine Mabel. Ellen died on 6th. March 1959 at 11 Lower Crescent, Linford and buried in the churchyard of St. John the Baptist Mucking.

Catherine Mabel Horner IDH14 Born 31st July 1886 at East Tilbury, daughter of Esther and Alfred Horner (IDH7 & 8). Baptized at St. John the Baptist, Mucking on 6th March 1887.Catherine and Edith went to school at the Church School at Mucking. Edith did not like to go and Catherine had to push her every step of the way. On one occasion Catherine gave Edith such a hard push that her hat fell off and she would not pick it up. Catherine pushed her on a little further then she realized that she would get into trouble if Edith lost her hat, so she ran back to fetched it. When she got back to Edith was standing just as she had left her.Mucking Church School had no playground the pupils went outside to play on the grass triangle at lunch time. One lunch time a group of them went to the sea wall and collected winkles which they put in their dinner bags they hung up in the cloakroom for afternoon lessons. After school the teacher was horrified to see the winkles had crawled out of the dinner bags and up the walls. She made the pupils pick them all off before they went home.Married Ernest James Engwell (ID16) at Grays Registry Office on 5th December 1908. Died 19th February 1964 at 59 River View, Chadwell St. Mary, Essex and is buried in the cemetery at Chadwell St. Mary.

Married Catherine Mabel Horner (IDH14) at Grays Registry Office on 5th December 1908. Died 24th February 1940 at Tilbury Hospital, Essex and is buried in the cemetery at Chadwell St. Mary.
