In my search for my Engwell ancestors at the Essex Record Office I have amassed the following data collected from parish registers and census returns. None of the entries have been checked against the records of the GRO.
Some of the entries were spelt Ingel; Enguel; Enguell and Engrell but where I have had further confirmation that the same family also spelt their name 'Engwell' I have used that spelling.
I also have a group of Goldstones, a handful of Horners, and a smattering of Smiths, all gleaned from the ERO.
As well as these I have some Stickings gleaned from the Centre for Kentish Studies at Maidstone, Mr Colin Penny's web site (see link below) as well as the ERO.
Not all of these people are my ancestors but maybe they are yours.
